The technical services of Girona Association of Nurseries actively participates on the 2nd March in a seminar organized by the Plant Health Service about the pests of palm trees and the new pests and diseases threatening plants and on the 5th of March in a seminar at the University of Girona about quarantine pests and diseases.

Recently we have seen the appearance of new pests and disease that affect severely ornamental trees and shrubs, like Red Palm Weevil and Fire Blight of species in the Rosacea family. On the other hand, there are pests in other countries that until now we have not detected in our country named “quarantine pests”. In this seminar we will outline the main threats we must prevent, the symptoms that show, the measures of prevention and eradication which it is necessary to take and the disposable methods for their control.
