- Girona region is leader in plant production.
- Catalonia is the region of Spain with the largest surface used on production of ornamental plants, being the province of Girona the absolute leader.
According to the statistical yearbook published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, 4725.25 ha are used by nurseries in Spain; among them 1600.40 ha are located in Catalonia (34%) of which 1105 ha belong to the Girona province, almost a quarter of the total Spanish nursery fields.
