- Spanish nurserystock exports have exceeded € 90 million during the first half of 2011.
For the second consecutive year, although lower than in the first half of 2010, Spanish exports of plants have exceeded 90 million euros, the second high.
Comparing the first half of 2011 to the same period of 2010, the plant exports from Spain to Portugal (-55%) and Germany (-13%) has decreased and to the UK has increased (+21%).
The importation of nursery stock to Spain has increased during the first half of 2011 compared to 2010, reaching the 2009 level, although much lower than previous years.
During the period January-June 2011 imports of nursery stock to Spain have declined from Portugal (-21%), Belgium (-10%) and Italy (-6%) while imports from outside the European Union (+20%) have increased.
During the first half of 2011 Catalan nurseries have exported 26% of total exported Spanish plants and have imported the 42%.
